That's the true beauty of Earthens leaf based Bioplates. You can compost them either in home compost or in municipal composting facilities. If you don't have home compost but have a garden/ back yard, you could just break the plates up and bury them. If none of these options are available to you, just dispose them with your regular garbage and the foodware - will naturally biodegrade in 6-8 weeks. It is also a very healthy fodder for livestock. Cow & sheep loves our bioplates.

The product has excellent insulating properties and can take heat very well. You can comfortably hold your bowl or plate of hot food without cooking your hand!
Yes, within reason. Earthens Bioplates are significantly more durable than plastic or paper plates. It's perfectly safe to heat our plates in the microwave for up to 2 minutes or in an oven up to 350 degrees for 45 minutes (making sure they are at least 6 from heat source). You can also store Earthens Bioplates in the refrigerator or freezer.

No. Earthens Bioplates won't alter the taste of your food in any way. They also have no lacquers on them, so there's nothing to leach into your food-something that can happen with plastics or PLA plastics.
You can serve meals on our products straight out of the package! All Earthens Bioplates are cleaned and UV sterilized no less than three (3) times, so they're extremely clean.
Yes, all of our products are completely non-toxic, because we use nothing but leaves and spring water.
Each Earthens Bioplate is unique because of the natural texture, color and pattern of the leaf it's made from. We do not alter the leaves in anyway.
We know it's hard to believe that Earthens Bioplates are intended for single-use, but our line is actually fully biodegradable and compostable. Because we do not use any bonding agents, lacquers or chemicals and our product is natural and porous, we cannot legally recommend washing and reusing Earthens.
We can, however, tell you that our customers often write in that they hand wash the plates and enjoy them time and again.

They are all the same product. The plates are made from 100% natural sheaths and not manufactured to be identical in color or texture. You will love to see that each plate is unique of their appeal.
Our bioplates have no coating whatsoever. Each plate is absolutely natural being made from individual areca palm sheaths. The palm sheaths are simply collected, pressure washed, scrubbed, sun dried, then with the application of extreme heat and pressure, sterilized and formed into our plate shapes. All natural, no coatings, chemicals, resins, dyes or synthetic materials.
You sure can. Since there are no additives or chemicals used in the production of our bioplates, it is absolutely safe to burn them. It doesn't produce dirtier black smoke. In fact, before we started making plates out of these fallen palm leaf sheaths, they would have been burnt off on a massive scale as a waste product. And since your lil'ol' campfire will hardly create even a speck of air pollution, we say 'go for it'!
