Did You Know? At Earthens, even our cut-waste has a purpose.

Once we craft plates from naturally fallen Areca palm sheaths, the leftover trimmings aren’t thrown away — they’re shredded into soft, dry fodder for cattle. This humble by-product is now helping farmers across India cut feed costs, reduce dependency on paddy straw, and improve livestock nutrition. Studies by the National Institute of Animal Nutrition & Physiology have shown that shredded areca sheaths not only match paddy straw in nutritional value — they can even enhance milk yield by 7–10% and milk fat content by 0.2–0.3%. From fallen leaves to full bellies — it's a win for farmers, for animals, and for the environment. Because at Earthens, sustainability doesn’t stop at the plate.
